Root /preinstall/app/ folder empty after root, anyone else

Look into my Eye
Did anyone else notice that the /preinstall/app/ folder gets wiped after following the preinstall.img or root.img rooting methods on briefmobile and xda?

The reason I ask is both my and my friend's /preinstall/app/ folders are now empty when they used to have 7-8 files in there. If (and this is a big if) that root method does clear out that folder, that could cause a MAJOR issue with the next OTA (if there ever is one). Since the OTA update checks system files and I am sure they are checked, if the update does check there, it brick the Atrix during the update.

Well if we can find out what those files were and replace then the problem would be fixed right?
I have used the "Pete's Motorola Root" method and the following files are present:
com.att.myWireless
com.blockbuster.app.moto
com.ea.nfsshift
com.mobitv.client.tv
com.mtag.att.codescanner
com.telenave.app.android.cingular
com.wavemarket.waplauncher
com.yellowpages.android.ypmobile

That is a different root method, and if that is what you have, that is great news (ad far as I can tell). After SBF'ing back to stock, I have the same ones. So I guess as long as you use that root method and not the preinstall.img or root.img versions, you should still be ok. I do not know if that root method removed any system files though, but looking at how it works, it looks like it only adds root, and does not remove anything else
