Premier member: Do you have to wait a full 12 months?

This December I will become a Premier member and next August will be the end of the first year of my new two-year contract, so I'll be able to get a new phone.

But I was wondering...since you are eligible for an upgrade after 22 months of a 24 month contract, does it work similarly when talking about 12 months? Will I be eligible for the upgrade after, say, 10 months? Or do you have to go the full 12 months to get the next upgrade?

I'm kind of in the same situation. I bought my phone at the end of Nov last year, and from what the Sprint chat person said I'm eligible for an upgrade on Nov. 1st. So I'm assuming you can upgrade on Aug. 1st. I'm sure someone more in the know will correct me if I'm wrong.

On a side note, does anyone know if Sprint is ever willing to let you upgrade a few months before your actual upgrade date?
 
On the 1year upgrade you might get lucky and have them move it up a couple of weeks (I did), but in most cases the one year upgrade is pretty strict... 12 mos.
 
My contract was signed 10/11/09. My upgrade was eligible on 9/1/10.

I asked and they said they would move it up to 9/14, but when I checked online it said 9/1. :D
