Root Premium Navigation and Rooting

Ok. I'm pretty new at this. So I want to know. I have the lifetime voucher for the premium navigation. If I were to root my phone right, what would happen to the navigation app? Will it be gone or will it still be there once I've rooted the phone.

As the navigation app is a google app, you should be able to download it again from the market (if it doesn't come with the ROM you flash on to your phone) and, as the lifetime voucher should (I guess) be linked to your gmail account, then you should be fine I'd have thought.

Well it's a premium navigation provided by HTC itself. So I'm not so sure if I can redownload it. Does rooting wipes all data off the phone? Because when I factory reset my phone the apps comes together with it.

I flashed ARHD 5.1.10. Premium navigation works perfectly after. What ROM are you looking at or do you just want root?

I believe that you would HAVE to install an HTC ROM... someone with more experience on this would have to let you know though!!

EDIT - if you want to use the HTC Navigation app, you may be able to download it from HTC...
