prepaid ROAMING?

First, I've given up on T-mobile customer reps to help answer my roaming question. They seemed to be confused, and once they hear I'm prepaid, they immediately want to switch my plan.

My question: In a remote area of Washington State, I've successfully been able to roam on a Verizon tower, which does not show up on any coverage maps, now I'm curious can I roam on ATT in these areas? It's crystal clear DATA roaming IS NOT available on prepaid, but not clear if voice is available, and is it ATT towers? Does my SIM need to be changed?

Update: I've determined this area only has coverage with Verizon, 98304. Is it possible to roam on Verizon towers with a SIM, I've read that T-mobile and Verizon have some sort of agreement that allows them to share towers? Is there a dual CDMA/SIM phone that can switch between carriers?

Thanks,

Prepaid has Voice and Text Roaming, but No mms or data roaming.

It uses AT&T CDMA networks are not compatible. I suppose it could be remotely possible you did roam on a canadian tower as well.

I have heard of phones with both cdma and gsm, but I dont know how it would work, if it could switch to which ever network was available.
But those dual radio phones are not common.

You may be able to roam (voice-only) on AT&T, if they allow T-Mobile prepaid to roam and if there is no native T-Mobile service in the area.

As to the Verizon roaming, you likely picked up a former Unicel GSM tower. Verizon acquired Rural Cellular Corporation (Unicel) a few years back and they still have GSM roaming up in northern New England, notably in Maine, but the phones are known to display 'USA 890' instead of 'Verizon' when roaming on that network.
