Preparation/Migration for "Droid"

Ok so Im in the process of transitioning from my LG voyager to my new Motorola Droid coming on Monday...

Seeing that There is no "Backup assistant".. and you need to have your contacts on your GMAIL account... I did find a way.. albiet a bit annoying to get my old contacts from my LG voyager -> GMail contacts....


I also have Imported into GMail calender my calender appointments from my LG Voyager....

Is there anything else one would reccomend as a proactive step to migrate to the Droid from the Voyager?

I used BitPim to export my contacts as VCards then imported the file into GMail. Seems to work fine. I don't have an android phone yet, so I can't tell you how the GMail to phone contacts worked.

I tried an export as csv file 1st. Didn't work as well as VCard
