Bear in mind that the current thinking is that pale body plus black lines was not the final design. As you say, let's see the real colours before making a decision.

My instinct is always "dark" for phones, though I'll concede that the pale M7 showed wear less than the black one (but I'm still fine with having bought black). But if past experience is a guide we can assume there will be more than one colour, and have yet to see what those look like.

Leaksfly actually gave us pictures of the larger m9, and he claimed 5.5". I think Upleaks is just spewing smoke
 
What I'd like to see -

A post release wrap up of all of the wrong predictions.

For years we had the Russian guy quoted as a reliable source, but I went back and couldn't find a thing that he said being true for 5 years.

But no one will, it might spoil it for next time. :D

Yes, and at least one of the blogs (don't recall which) made exactly this point when commenting on a "S6 case design leak": the manufacturer will give dimensions, size and location of buttons, camera, flash etc, but there is no reason for them to give any details about the design of the front or back of the phone beyond that.

So yeah, the square camera cut-out is very believable (and chimes with everything else we've seen). Showing the front panel of the M8 in the case doesn't mean anything.

They are going to have silver, gold, and gun metal like last year. I do not see them straying away from what made the M7 and M8 pseudo popular. I loved the silver M7 and I wanted an M8 in that same color but Verizon got exclusive rights to the color. So I had to go with the gun metal color...blah.

I take pretty good care of my phones and I use a holster for my phones. So they stand out more if you have them in a nice color. For some reason I have grown to dislike dark colored phones.
 
My Note 2 is dying. The earpiece doesn't work. If HTC doesn't come out with a 5.5" m9 on March 1st, I think I'll jump ship to the iPhone 6 plus. I just want a premium 5.5"+ phone.

The metal unibody phone options in the 5.5"+ screen range are limited.

I really like the premium feel of metal smartphones, and it's a shame not one Android phone delivers.

Sure the note 4 and others are nice, but I don't find them premium in terms of build quality. Also, TW is about as appealing as changing dirty diapers. You'll deal with it if you have to, but no one likes the stink.

Edit: Although I hear Samsung may be reducing bloat on newer models

If the M8 doesn't deliver for you as a quality handset, what does the M9 need for quality? :confused:

It's PhoneArena picking up on the tweets from over the weekend.

If true it might mean that all 3 rumoured screen sizes could turn out to be real: 5" = M9 (Hima), 5.2" = M9 Plus (Hima Ultra) and 5.5" = Desire A55 (Hima Ace). But let's face it, all of the rumours being true would be quite a surprise! ;)
