press '1' for...menu choosing problem

Hi, everyone,

I'm not English so sorry for the 'bad title'
(don't know how to call my problem in English)

I have this problem when you call a company
and I'm asked "press '1' for ... and press '2' for... well, you know.

Nothing happens when I press a number on my keyboard (touchscreen)
and so they keep repeating the menu...

I suppose it has to do with the setting of my phone (Samsung Galaxy Gio)
but can 't find anything to fix it.

I have looked all over and found nothing, so I want to know the answer to this as well, in case it happens to me.
