Root Prevail/Precedent = Same = Rom compatibility

I've been repeating this on a few forums now, so I figured we could make a sticky.

BOTH PHONES ARE EXACTLY THE SAME.

Which means. WITH A FULL FLASH (phone, pda, boot) with odin.
You can CONVERT your phone to the other brand.

THEN you change back your carrier information so it works on your carrier.

The point? People are asking for ports of roms from the precedent to prevail and vise versa.
The only "porting" that needs to be done, is the carrier information. Thats it. I swear. I've odin flashed my precedent several times to boost and back to straight talk. No bugs, no bricks, no nothing. I swear.

good information. This may be useful to some people who want a Precedent ROM

There is no need for a tutorial, to convert your phone all you need to do is flash the boot, phone and tar sections in odin. There are many odin tutorials out there for both these phones. And yes, for those rom modders, you can grab any rom from either phone and hack away at it to make it work with your carrier.

Really? People didn't know this already?
Hm... I flashed so much crap on my cousin's precedent, I thought it was common knowledge that the only difference was appearance and carrier... I remember seeing a post about it last year. After all, AreaROM was the secong rom I flashed on my prevail.
