Help Prevent screen dim when using phone

I would like to prevent the screen from auto dimming while I'm using the phone on speaker or with headphones. Is there a way to prevent this on the GS2? I've looked just about everywhere I can think of.

check the display settings. . .there's a sub category for screen time out. . . HTH

I've got my screen timeout at 10 minutes, which is good elsewhere. Its just when on call with the phone keypad active. It dims almost immediately.

I thought it might be "turn on proximity sensor", which says "LCD turns off during calls", but that does no do it either.

proximity sensor turns off the screen when it detects ur face near it, and turns the screen off. i dont think there's a setting for wat ur looking for.

I thought there might be some way of doing it since the option is available with stock Android.

I know it might seem trivial to many people, but I live on my phone during the business day and like to see at a glance the status of my mute. The dimming just bothers me.

One thing you can do as a workaround is hit the home button then pull down the notification dock. You can see your mute status there (and control it), and the screen honors your global settings.
