Prevent users from exiting slideshow

Hello,

I've purchased some Android 4.0 tablets in order to be used in an international fair. These tablets will be put on a little stand and I'd like to display a slideshow with product information on them. But, my big question is how I can prevent visitor's to exit the slideshow to go and start using other apps. So, in other words, where can I find the tools/other Apps that block users from exiting the app?

Thanks a bunch!

First of all, welcome to Android Forums, Waldinho!

Second, that's an excellent question but I'm afraid the answer is likely to be, "you can't". When I mess with any Android tablet or phone at a brick and mortar store, I've always been able to exit out of their demo and play with the device. I did a little research and can't find any app which does that.

Now just because I can't find it doesn't mean it can't be done, there doesn't seem to be any evidence to the contrary. Good luck.

Just a thought, but you may be able to utilize something like Tasker to capture any event and redirect to the slideshow. It may restart the slideshow, but at least that will keep the folks out.

A really good question. Many people who see a tablet think they can just play with it. I had that problem when using laptops at trade shows before.

I hope you find a good solution.
