Pringles Speaker Can - Mods

If you got one of these free "Pringles Speaker Can" put 3 napkins losely stuffed into the tube, then an inch up from the bottom, cut a inch high 3in wide mouth, much better low end with it ported and baffled.

not so perdy right now, wrapped twice tightly with tape to stiffen up the tube, impressed with the sound once modded.

Pretty cool. I haven't seen these speakers before, I'm gonna gave to take a trip down the chip aisle.

I can really hear my tablet now. Nearly went deaf on a full volume email notification, that before was near quiet on the stock speaker.

It takes 4 of those peel off tops to get one, the paper part you peel of before eating.

This speaker rocks with the mods, I can now take my tablet into the work shop and watch old TV shows while I work, which I mostly just listen to, radio is so boring. With a giant whole house attic fan just above my head sucking like a tornado, and a drill press whirling away, I can still hear ;)

Ive gotten much more done being able to just relax n hang out in the shop. My OV cell has no problem sending it wifi 70ft away through many walls.

I have a pair of HP brand "Notebook Speakers" that are a lot more compact than a pair of Pringles cans, have a convenient zipper case and a sound that's very nice for the $15 I paid for them. I think I'll stick with them.

A Pringles can as a speaker enclosure doesn't seem like a very bright idea. It naturally has two resonant frequencies that would make for pretty rotten frequency response. I can think of a whole bunch of discarded food containers that would be a better choice.

Good enough for me, I grabbed a HDMI to VGA cable off ebay tonight, I can take an old 19" monitor out into the shop and go large on the sights and sounds from the tablet.

I don't know about for a full range speaker, but a tube is actually a good shape for a subwoofer.
