Printing from my SGN2 (and an IPad)

Background.
I have slowly moved to smaller devices. I have a desktop and a 15 inch laptop switched off and ignored for nearly two years. I had a Samsung NetBook N140 that was small and light that replaced them. Then I got an ipad2 and have recently swapped my Iphone4 (at the end of a two year contract) for a Samsung Galaxy Note2.
I feel very good about these changes and the IPad and SGN2 are now making the NetBook obsolete.
However the issue is PRINTING.
I am locked to the NetBook as I do not have a wireless printer and am loath to junk my Epson Stylus SX105 printer unless I have to.
Is there a solution out there now that iPads etc have been around for some time.
Are there cables that will link my printer and the Ipad2 and the SGN2 so I can print directly from them.
Help please.
Thanks.

You can try google cloud print which should print from any printer as long as you have it turned on and plugged into an internet connected computer. I don't think there is an ipad app yet though. We have a HP wireless printer and there IS an ipad app from HP which I use to print from the ipad.

Good thing about google cloud print is I can print from my phone even while I'm out of the house, whereas the HP ipad app you must have the ipad and the printer connected to the same wifi network

I know they sell wireless USB adapters that will "link" your device to your printer so long as both items are on the same wifi network. I've heard varying degrees of satisfaction with these so it might work, might not.

Like you I was really aching to be able to print with my shiny new toys. There are a ton of apps on the App Store (Apple) that work for the iPad but, again, how well they work is of question.

I know it might not be what you want to hear but I, ultimately, gave up and bought a new printer; Epson Workforce 845 AIO. Tigerdirect.com had it on sale for 50% off so it cost me $100. It's AirPrint enabled so I can print directly from my iPad and it has a cloud print service called EpsonConnect. With that, I can simply email a doc/pic to there and it'll automatically print on the printer regardless of where I am.

I am amazed how difficult printing is from tablets and phones.
The tech journalists say tablets and smart phones are the future but printing is still very, very important.
Has anyone succeeded in printing satisfactorily ??
Thanks

I use the printer share app which works pretty well with a wi fi network..... I think if your gonna go mobile you probably should try getting a wi fi printer.

Google cloud print is where it's at. I love it and it works with any android device and even on non wifi printers

I understand now.
Sadly my printer is in the basement and when I want print I carry my NetBook down to the printer attach the cable and .....print.
So for google cloud I would have to set up a PC next to printer.

So now thinking of getting a wifi printer. Final hurdle will be to find one that prints from an iPad and my SGN2.

Thanks all for your help.

If you are going to get a WiFi printer, I know for a fact that HP makes Android and iOS apps for wireless printing - works really well. Here's a quote from another post on other manufacturers who supposedly have similar apps:

For iPads, I think you'll want to look into Airprint? I seem to remember that when trying to set-up a friend's iPhone to print wirelessly to their printer.
