Yes, you would. i still can call the service provider and all so you don't need to worry, they wont notice your phone is rooted also UNLESS you show them the phone with superuser or any rooted privileges...

Yes. But some OTA updates may un-root and then block root. Hasn't happened yet with the Esteem -- the last OTA update unrooted, but did not block re-rooting -- but if Metro pushed out the
ZVC version that's on LG's site it would definitely block root. So, I've frozen my updater apk.
