Root Prl/profile not automatically updating

Could someone help me figure out why when I restart my phone or go from one city to another my phone won't update the prl/profile? Could it be an app I removed? My MMS or LTE won't work correctly unless I manually update the prl/profile.
 
Hmmmmm did you say prl and what carrier are you with . some say to manual update about 30 minutes before you start your route. Now it wouldn't keep updating cause in some areas would be a roaming area . but sometimes a power down for 5minutes and power on Dont do anything til phone stay on for about 10minutes this will allow it to update . if your on the east coast your CDMA will be ending soon
 
I give up trying to explain to people. Guess I'll just have to deal with this problem until I find out if it's software related or service related.
 
Honestly, I've never had a phone automatically update those, or the firmware or system software.
 
So then what would be the cause of my MMS and LTE not working correctly unless I update the profile/prl?
 
Hard to say... Has it done this since you got it, or did it start recently? What have you been messing with when the problem started?
 
Well, try uninstalling things in reverse order of how you installed them and see if it goes away. Have you removed any system apps?
 
Can I ask a crazy question . do you have a backup if so just reflash the backup . that's correct reflash the backup with out doing a wipe or factory data reset
 
Was anyone able to figure out which app controls the system update for prl and profile? I went a bit overboard uninstalling apps to remove bloat and can't figure out which one took out this feature
 
if you have deleted carrier specific apps from system any of them could be responsible for failures in this area that are prl related. not meaning apps like voicemail or like virgin sprint zone type apps.
 
Turns out it was either Update Center or Software Update for me. Made a backup in titanium of these apps after restoring a stock backup and prl and profile updates are working again
