Root prl swap

im trying to prl swap on my elite; however, i can't get the port in qpst to be active. I was able to get the msl through download mode.

the only time i can get my phone to show up in qpst is when its in download mode (com port 3 for me); however, in download mode you can't do service programming to do a prl swap.

device manager isn't showing ports for me.. not sure what to do here
 
right on, thanks that worked. i changed to 60677 and now im at 790kbs before i was at like 128kbs... what's the latest prl anyways i keep getting mixed results when i google it.. i get a bunch of 4g ones, hybrids, but i just want to try the latest that's compatible with this phone
 
The last one i knew of was 60690. I was running is but my data has been horrible. I switched back to stock tonight just to see if the prl was the issue
 
i just switched to 60690 about the same as when i was on 60677 but ill do more testing over the next couple days. Are there any tweaks i should know about besides prl swap?
 
If you find a thread named build.prop tweaks or something close it has some 3g tweaks that may or may not help as i haven't tried them so not sure. Does nothing for signal but is suposed to help speeds. I think it just tweaks buffers but let me know if you try em
 
yup, found one someone made in this forum. I swapped to 60690 and did the build.prop tweaks and this is what i came up with over the course of the night:
