Help problem charging Maxx HD in the car...

My maxx hd can charge fine from computer or socket in house but when i am in the car sometimes the charge just disconnects with the "disconnect, unplug your charger from outlet to save energy". This is extremely frustrating especially when I am low on battery! I used 3 different USB cables as well as 2 different power sockets in the car and same problem - sometimes the charge just disconnects! I have used the same car and car charger for my Droid Charge prior to this and I never had a single problem with it... i am curious if anyone know if this could be a charger issue, car battery issue or maybe phone (settings?) issue?

btw, it doesnt matter what position the phone is in it still disconnects. I do notice that if the phone is OFF it seems to charge fine?

Thanks!

try it in a different car? could be the cigarette lighter port isn't working right, or is just loose. I've had that happen- the lighter port just needed to be tightened down to make the charger work right.

The car charger might not have enough amperage for charging your Maxx HD propery.
Compare the imprint on the car charger with the wall charger's with came with the phone.
Look at output 5V/...A (or mA).
If the car charger has less amperage you'd look for a other car charger, I'd buy a Motorola :)
