Problem downloading files

Hi I'm new to the forum here. I just got my galaxy note 2 replacing my previous iphone 3gs. However, I came across 1 problem when I try to download files especially word documents, pdf and powerpoint files from the internet, it just show the downloads were in progress but the download is never complete. However, I can open the files through my email and dropbox. Is there any solutions to the problem? Really appreciate all your help. Thanks!
 
I just click on a normal internet link that has a pdf file and the downloaded file just keep on saying 'in process'. I thought maybe that there's security issue or some block. I have no problems accessing to files using my iphone previously.
 
Is the place you are downloading from public or something? you can post here one of the links that is giving you trouble for others to test.
 
Hi thanks for replying. Actually certain sites I could not download the file for example blackboard websites for my uni where you need to login all. after logging in, there is a pop-up saying view certificate or continue to login to the site. then when i want to download file, the files show ongoing and in-process (loading) but doesnt download at all. Is there any apps that can be used to solve it?

I think its probably security problem of the website. But is there any apps that can be used to solve it?
