Dear Team,
Recently I purchased a Galaxy S2.But I am facing problem in installing one of the live wallpapers.

I am always receiving an error while tried to installed. It gives me a pop up msg.

It says me
"" Replace Application
This is a system application.Do youstill want to replace it?

and after pressing yes, i got the following popup window.

Application not installed. An existing package by same name conflicting signature is already installed

Welcome parthaphukon to the forums, glad to have you here.

Hopefully i can provide some assistance to your issue, if not you can always go to either your phone subforum or general android questions, links below:

Android Lounge - Android Forums

On the main page at the bottom are links to phones, the S2 has so many subforums that you should just click which one is your version.

So, i looked online for a guide and here is one on how to install live wallpapers:

How to install Live Wallpaper on your Samsung Galaxy S2 | Samsung Galaxy S2

I couldn't find any other information on people having this problem. You might want to just do a reboot by removing your battery. If this doesn't work and the problem persists, even when following that install guide, it might be a phone issue and you might want to contact your carrier, otherwise a factory reset is always an option :(

It sounds like the package you are trying to install wants to overwrite system files, which can't be done unless you have root access.

Live wallpapers should not be attempting to access that part of the system, so I'd be wary of what you are trying to install.

Can you provide a link or the name of the wallpaper you are trying to install ?

Thanks for your reply.
Its android latest ICS. I came to know that i have to rename the existing file. But to do that i need to be root user.
Kindly guide me how to install, as I told you earlier that I am finding the error that I have mentioned.

Because at the time of insatllation the name of both were same as Android Live wallpaer.

regards,
Partha

Like I said above... the installation of a live wallpaper should not be returning that error unless it attempting something nefarious. I'd be wary of whatever you are trying to install.

I just followed that link and got a "File Expired" error ???? haha.

Anyhow, does your collegue have a rooted phone? because if so then his might of gone through, because like sdrawkcab25 said, if it is trying to change system files you will need to root your device.
