Help Problem Messages & Phonecalls SORTORDER

I just got a G2 - android 2.2

Coming from G1 with cyanogen6.

The PROBLEM:

G2 sort order of text messages and phone calls are random.
It's not putting my most recent message at the top of the list. It's actually sorting my messages COMPLETELY RANDOMLY.

Also the messages within each person's texts are randomly sorted.

I have no idea who is messaging me or what was the most recent message.

when i make a call it does not put the most recent call at top of list. really weird.

the problem looks to have been timezone settings...will confirm if thats correct later today.
