Help Problem recieving messages in group chat format

So my problem started a few days ago when I started a group chat via text message. There are three people that are in the group chat including myself. The problem is I am only getting messages from one person. The other person will send messages and I can read a partial message from my noticicatio sscreen but the moment I open the group chat all of his messages are blank. What's got me dumphounded is if he send me a message outside of the group chat they come in just fine. I met with him today and he showed me the messages on his phone his are there but my messages in the group chat came in with red exclamation marks at the end. Please help the is very frustrating as we need to communicate often for our project.
 
No one involved has an iPhone I have an lgg3 the person I'm not getting messages from has a HTC and the last guy has a galaxy s7 I'm using what came with my phone from the Sprint store
 
Try a different app, see if you have better luck. I like Chomp but Textra (same developer) and Hangouts have worked well for me too.

Have you cleared cache on your current app? Do that and force stop it. May or may not help.
 
Thank you for the suggestions I started using hangouts because that was another factory installed messaging app on my phone I haven't tried to force stop the other message app as I don't know how it anyone can shed light on that I would like to try it thanks
 
Settings, apps, find whatever it is (messaging/text), storage, clear cache, then force stop. That may not be exactly what you see on your phone but it will get you in the general area.

How is Hangouts working? Better?
 
Yes the hangout app is working fine I wish it was a little cosomizable maybe I just need to find out how to but it is working I can even see old messages sent to me that I couldn't see before in the group chat thank you for your help I'm going to try fixing the old app guess we will see if it works thanks again
 
Yeah, HO's is pretty bare bones. Not many choices for customization really. That's why I use Chomp (and Textra), you can go nuts with the set up.

The 'old' (stock?) app may or may not work right, ever. Most folks find a different one for stability alone.
 
I just tried to clear the cache and data also force stoped the app unfortunately there was no change I'm guessing this might be a problem with capatability with his messages and the app I have idk what app he uses but I think it might be something diffrent than what I have I just think it's strange for it to just start happening now after almost 2 years with this phone and only with his messages in probably going to try one of the others you suggested I just tried to us hangouts because it was already installed on my phone
 
Messaging can be a pain in the, well, it's sometimes a problem. It really shouldn't be, it's such a basic thing, but it is. Find an app you like and works for you and use it. Problem solved, yet the bigger problem remains :D
