Hello, I'm a complete and utter sausage. My sister gave me her old phone but it wasn't on my network so I'm trying to root my phone to unlock it. The phone is locked to T-Mobile/EE and the model is GT-I9100. I've tried two ways but both haven't gone very well. Everytime I try to turn my phone on it has the Samsung logo with the yellow triangle and doesn't do anything else. I've never done this so please simplify things as much as you can with lots of details. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Android Forums.

Unfortunately rooting your phone DOES NOT unlock it for use on other carriers. You will need to contact T-Mobile and get the unlock code from them to be able to use the phone on other carriers.

As far as rooting the S2 go here.... Galaxy S2 All Things Root You will find what you need there
