Problem setting up exchange mail

Hi,

I am trying to set up my work exchange mail. First time I went through the process it said the certificate I need to install was saved on my USB however I went into storage and couldn't see it anywhere so started the process agian.

Now it keeps telling me my username or password is wrong which I know is not true.

Just to add I have been using exchange mail on my iphone 4 without any such problems.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I know when I setup exchange on android via active sync settings my user name is different than using outlook or outlook web access via PC browser. On outlook or web access via PC the user name is "myname@company.com". But on my android setup its "myname123". so my name followed by 3 numbers.
I asked my IT people and they said for active sync its not just my email address.

My user name is indeed different to my login name.

eg we have a UIN number which on iphone and windows I use however during the setup I will put john.smith@contoso.com

I need to change this when I include the domain so will be IUSER/UIN.

then mail.contoso.com

These settings worked fine on iphone.

The odd thing is the 1st time it said my SSL certificate was saved to my phone but I was unable to locate it. It never asked me for that again. But I don't think we even use SSL certs here at work.

All in all it's a poor experience. Surely someone must have cracked this?

Did you uncheck the option I mentioned? I was having a similar problem on my Droid X and it worked when I unchecked that option "verify certificate". I don't know if it's the same for ICS.

sometimes you need your IT specialist to pre-authorize your phone for the exchange server.

I had to do that to get it to accept password on my android phone.

So I got a new handset and what do you know, it still doesn' work. Tried not checking verify cert either.

Has anyone with an android device managed to get exchange mail working on the native mail all?
