Help Problem setting wallpaper

I am struggling to add a picture to my phone as a wallpaper. I am taking the picture from my gallery and clicking on the menu button and then clicking on the add as wallpaper, the problem is the Phone then has a crop window pop up and allows you to adjust the picture into the cropped area, I do that and then click OK and then when I look at the wallpaper it has automatically zoomed in and now I only see 30% of the picture

Touch the little dots on the outsides of the pic you can enlarge the crop guides.

I tried that but all it does is zoom in more into the picture

Check the resolution of the wallpaper. Optimal resolution should be 1440x1280.
