Help problem transfering data using an otg cable with a flash drive.

I'm having trouble xfering data from my nexus 7 to the flash drive I store my media on.

Can anyone please let me know if there is a way to do this.

I can do it the other other way round using nexus media importer.

How is the drive formatted? I've an external hard drive (500gb) formatted as NTFS and have problems copying files because, even rooted, I'm unable to create on that drive.

Still looking at solution for it. may have to reformat as fat drive

Media Importer allows just read-only access. If you are rooted and install Stickmount, you will have read/write access to external storage through the OTG cable. Stickmount updated with support for 4.2 yesterday.

Media importer only allow you to read from the external device.

As mentioned by Groid, stickmount will work (or you can manually mount it, but thats a lot of work)
