Ok a little bit of history first - I've had the phone since July last year and I've been trying to update the firmware using Kies since they released froyo at the end of last year.
I have never been able to get it to connect to Kies (on either pc at home) and the best I've ever got is a never ending 'connecting' message in Kies after running every possible option mentioned on around 20 forums (including this one).
I've tried it today on a mates laptop as it's a new install and it worked 1st time! The issue is under firmware it says
This version of the device cannot be updated
Current firmware version: PDA:JF4 / PHONE:JF3 / CSC:JE6 (TMU)
I seem destined to never upgrade this ****ing thing. Any advice would be very welcome.
