Help Problem when using an external SD card as internal storage

Hi!
When my phone detected my micro SD card, it offered me to use it as an internal storage. Everything is fine, but when I connect the phone to my PC via USB, I see only my SD card, but I can't see my actual internal storage.

If you opted to merge your SD into adaptive memory with the internal memory, then the two are married into ONE memory location. I guess that's a good thing for phones with really low internal memory specs, but I refuse to do it for one compelling reason:

If the phone gets dropped or otherwise craps out and becomes unusable, I can pull my SD card out and put it in another phone and rock on. If the SD card is set for adaptive memory, I can't do that. The card's contents will be worthless without the contents of the internal memory, which would be inaccessible.
