Help Problem with 2 of the 3 Angry Birds

Hi,

I recently got an Orange San Francisco, and this is my first post, due to an Angry Birds problem.I can run Angry Birds Rio, but oddly not the original game or the Seasons variant.

For those 2 the program gets through the launch screens and then dumps me back to the OS at the "loading..." screen (no error messages). It seems odd that one version will work and the others won't as I assume they use more or less the same source code.

Any ideas for this behaviour? All seem to install OK, and go to phone memory and not the SD card (based on the available memory after installation). Memory capacity was always over 50Mb free after installation, so there's a fair amount of headroom. I confess I wouldn't know how to force installation to the SD card anyway.

The phone is still running the original Orange software (Android 2.1) as it's only a week old and I didn't want to invalidate the warranty by rooting it just yet!

Rio is a great game, I'd like to try the others though!

many thanks

Welcome to AF! :)

I either read, or heard somewhere that RIO was optimised to look/perform better on older handsets. It could just be that as it stands, the limitations placed on the phone by the stock Orange software prevent you from playing it?

I know you say you don't want to root, but it's really easy and you can return to stock just as easily if you need it replaced. The OSF is an entirely different phone with a custom ROM on there. :)

Hi,
Thanks for the responses. RIO looks very good on the OSF's hi res screen.

I'll look into the rooting guide then, as I didn't realise you could restore the original, I'd assumed you couldn't back it up.
many thanks
