Help Problem With Apps Crashing

Hello all,
I recently bought a Huawei P9 Lite that is currently running Android 6.0
Suddenly yesterday, downloaded Apps started crashing a few seconds after I try to boot them. The weird thing is, if I check the running Apps, I can see these Apps are running. So maybe they don't crash, but lose focus? Anyway, the bottom line is I can't use any of my downloaded Apps. I tried uninstalling and re-installing them, clearing the cache and storage data etc. I currently do not have an SD and the phone is not rooted. As I said before yesterday the Apps were working correctly and I haven't messed up with any setting or something of the sort.

Any ideas of what might the problem be? Thanks you for your time.

Hey boy

Wlcm to forums :)

There's a fix you can try yourself: Open your system settings, then the application manager and select Android System WebView. From there, tap "uninstall updates" and your apps should begin working normally again.

Thanks

Hello, I cannot find such an App in my manager. I made system Apps visible but I still cannot find it.

I think that's probably an important system app ,it must be there , have a second look ,check the pic ,it's on 2 Nd.

I honestly checked 6+ times, very slowly paying attention to each App and I can't find it. I even enabled visibility on system Apps. I have no idea what is happening.

No, there was no major update and it says Android 6.0 in the "About Phone" settings menu.

Hey

Recovery Mode Huawei P9 Lite

Turn off the devicePress and hold Volume UP key and Power key for a few seconds ( don’t press Power key so long )Keep pressing Volume Up key until EMUI icon and Recovery mode menu appearsUse Volume keys to select MenuUse Power key to Confirm.

Wipe cache partition

By wiping the cache partition, you will remove all the junk and temporary files stored on your Android device. If some of the files are corrupted, the apps you are using can freeze or crash. You can also free up some space on your smartphone or tablet. You have to boot your device into recovery mode.

Follow these steps:

Turn off your devicePress and hold the combination of keys as told above , navigate to Recovery mode and select it using the Power buttonIn the Recovery mode menu, navigate to Wipe cache partition and select it with the Power buttonWhen this is completed, navigate to Reboot system now and select it using the Power button.

Let us know if it worked or not ,do also check if your all updates are up to date and your internet connection is stable.

Alright, I did what you said, the EMUI menu opened and I Wiped the cache. Then I rebooted the device but the Apps still don't work. Now it took a little more time before the Apps crash.

Alright, I don't know what is going on. I did a factory reset through EMUI and now when I try to boot it up it goes through the initial setting up sequence that I did when I bought it, but now it won't progress through the steps. It stops at the step about smart wifi. It won't go further, so I can't boot my phone.

Sigh...

Can you post a pic ? Screenshot? Which step?

I do not have a way to post a screen now. The phone has some setup steps, for example language, wifi settings and so on. The 3rd or 4th step asks if you want the Smart Wifi or Wifi + feature enabled. That is a feature that goes back and forth from wifi and mobile data depending which is better. When I got the phone, I disabled this and went on to the next steps. However now no matter if I touch enable or disable it won't get past that step. So I can't go any further down the steps and I can't boot the operating system. I rebooted the device, and performed another factory reset but nothing happens. The device is pretty much bricked. And I have it for 3 days lol.

No other phone currently. There are only 2 options, Allow and Don't Allow. None work. It just loops there forever.

Take a look at this guide. Scroll down to the "SET UP YOUR PHONE FOR THE FIRST TIME" and look at the pictures. There is one that says "Enhanced internet experience". This is where I can't go any further. No matter what I press, it tries to go to the next step but it loops back.

I think I should cry [emoji31][emoji31]lemme look for solution somewhere . Factory reset means a new phone from ( -software side ) . Secondly your phone was new from hardware side too. [emoji17]

I wanna cry too cause I had to switch to a nano-sim and now none of my older backup phones can be used.

Thanks anyway...
Hey

Searched google alot , A guy i found faced same problem but his phone was rooted , He didn't got a solution tho , I recommend you call customer care for that problem . They must assist you for that problem if your phone is new .

You did factory reset using recovery mode?

Thanks and Sorry ( Factory reset );

I found the thread you are talking about and I made a reply there too. I didn't even try to root my phone or do anything with it. I just wanted to download some Apps from play store.

I pressed the power and volume-up buttons and the EMUI interface appeared. It has 3 options: Reboot, factory reset and wipe cache. I selected the factory reset, and then the setup wizard got stuck. I sent an E-mail to huawei support. We will see. On tuesday I will contact the shop I bought it from.

No the factory reset was completed. But after I rebooted the setup wizard doesn't continue from the wifi + step. I don't think this will be covered in the guarantee. 233 euros down the drain.

Hell no ,you haven't breached the terms of service , so definitely it will covered and maybe they will replace it .

I returned the phone and got my money back from the store. Turns out most of the 3gb RAM versions the sold had the same problem. I will probably buy the 2gb version, because I still think this phone is the best in this price.

Thank you for your answers and help.
