Problem with apps loading

So I have just upgraded from Hero to Evo. I love the phone, however I am noticing one big problem with my apps. On my hero if I used Advanced Task Killer to kill apps running in the back ground they closed and stayed closed. However on my Evo if I close apps they just reopen a few moments later, so if I don't constantly kill all the apps every 5 minutes they just sit there and run and DESTROY my battery. Is there something else I could do to make it so that apps I force close stay closed? Thank you in advance for any help.

They aren't using up your battery. Just leave them be. You are now running Froyo, so you don't have to (some would argue that you don't *want* to) use a task killer.

The Evo can use a lot of battery, as it has a big screen and a fast processor. If you suspect that an app is using too much battery, there are steps you can take, starting with checking the Battery Use screen in Settings...

Ok, thank you . Just for my understanding though, could you explain why in Froyo that its better to leave apps running in the background rather than kill them and also I'm not sure I follow on how having like, facebook for instance, running in the background is not using battery? Just curious is all.

The fact that an app shows up in a Task Killer as "running" doesn't mean it is consuming cycles. It has been loaded and is ready to run. If Froyo needs the memory, it will purge that app from memory.

In the case of an app like Facebook, as long as you haven't configured it to do polling for updates, it won't consume any cycles.

There are many threads on the pros and cons of task killers. The general consensus is that in Froyo and later, use of a task killer can be counter-productive.

I still keep one around just in case I need to kill a misbehaving app, but I rarely use it.

Again, if you are having serious battery drain issues, there are ways of diagnosing that.

I have a droid tablet whwn I go to load games like angry bird it tells me it is downloaded but no apps found what am i doing wrong
