Problem with apps that used to be pre-installed

Hi there,

I have a rooted phone HTC Desire S. Everything works fine except installing back already uninstalled pre-installed apps. I uninstalled apps like Youtube, Facebook and Adobe reader because I wanted to move them to my SD Card (which is not possible if they're pre-installed apps). So I uninstalled them via Titanium backup and installed back to my phone (now with possibility to move them to my SD card). The problem is that none of these apps (that used to be pre-installed) work. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks for your answer.

There are several possibilities where the process you describe might have failed. Check all of the following:
  1. .apk files were installed to /system/app
  2. .odex files (if any) were installed to /system/app *
  3. permissions of above files set to 644
  4. wipe contents of /data/dalvik-cache (and then immediately reboot)
If you chose "Restore all missing apps + system data" in TBU, it's possible that it did not do a proper or full backup. If you have the .apk files, just install them as user apps. They'll still work. Even if you don't have the .apk, all the apps you mentioned are available from the Play store and will work just fine as user apps.

* There's no .odex for Youtube, but I don't know about the others.
