I am having a problem creating a useable AVD in Eclipse. I am running JDK 1.7, Eclipse Juno with ADT 23.0.2. This is running on a Windows 7 machine.
I can create an AVD fine, but when I run it (and I have tried many variations of the device definition - they all work the same way), it load the emulator and on start-up an error message appears the initial ANDROID startup screen. The error is the following:
"Sorry!
The application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
FORCE CLOSE"
When I choose the "Force Close" button, the splash screen disappears and the home screen shows as expected - except that the screen of the emulator is turned landscape! (the hardware buttons are in portrait, it is just the screen that is landscape.
As I mentioned, this happens with all different AVDs that I have created. I haven't even tried to run any apps yet, just at the initial point of setting up my environment where I am trying to create a worlable DVD.
