Help Problem with Brightness of the screen

Hello. I noticed some slight variations of the brightness of the screen, when browsing in the internet or just seeing photos. For example, when i put a photo on, sometimes i can notice a slight reduction of the screen brightness, like it's turning/fading a little bit less brighter. I suppose that the brightess should be always the same, and we can only change it in the definitions? Right?

Anyone with this problem?

The X10 I had before this had an option to have auto brightness but you could see it hunting for the optimum setting and this phone seems to do the same but there is no option for auto brightness in the default settings.

Maybe try an app that will toggle brightness levels? see if that sorts it.
