Help Problem with camera and flash on Samsung Galaxy S2

Hi

Taking photos with low light I've used the flash and a number of times the device has failed to take a full photo. I've attached an example. As you can see, only the top part of the subjects head was displayed and a clear 'cut off' zone is distinguished. Often a large part of the picture but light levels seem to vary the extent of the cut off.

Does anyone else experience this? Not sure if it's a fault with my phone or a bug in the camera software?

Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

I have this exact same problem. No idea what is causing it or if it is a faulty phone or not. eager to see if there are many more with this problem!

Just went on the Samsung App store and spotted a SGS2 camera firmware update. I installed this and the problem seems to be solved. no done any extensive testing yet but it seems fine now!

Thanks for that, installing the firmware now, will let you know how I go with this over the next few weeks of photography! :)

PS - wonder what other improvements there are with this firmware?

I was having the exact problem described, and went looking for the firmware. I almost drove myself crazy looking for it as I couldn't find it in the Samsung App Store - it's no longer available it seems. However, I was able to resolve the issue by accessing the camera app, pressing the 'Settings' cog, scrolling down to the bottom, then pressing 'Reset'.
