Help Problem with ChompSMS notifications

So I use chomp, since metro converts your long messages into MMS.

When I try to set the Notification on silent
(Chomp SMS>Settings>Notifications>Ringtone:Silent)
, and someone sends me a message while the screen is off, the default ringtone plays. But when I'm using the phone, it just vibrates. I've reset phone, re-installed app. Nothing wants to work. Anyone else having this problem?

chomp has some issues . when i had it on my indulge I kept receiving weird text on my default messaging app and once i got a replay from one of the members here telling me is because of chomp. So i deleted it and problem solve. If this keeps happening get in touch with the app makers maybe they could solve this issue

use GOSMS Pro (it's free) and work a hell of a lot better than Chomps. Has all the same features, plus more and overall functions and looks better/cleaner
