Help problem with gallery

Newbie
I just purchased the Asus Eee-pad tf-101. I was in the process of adding e-mail accounts, etc. I checked in the gallery to see what kind of pictures were included and I noticed 5 folders that had somehow downloaded to my tablet. They are from my blog and one other. How did they get there and how can I remove them as I don't want them on the tablet? I did a factory reset as the Asus tech suggested, but all that did was get rid of the previously installed pictures. There is no trash can showing to allow me to delete them. If I keep my finger on the album, a trash can shows up, but the folder will not delete. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
John :( I just tried going off internet and clearing the cache in gallery and the folders were gone. When I switched the internet back on, the five folders reloaded into gallery. Any suggestions?

Welcome to AF Txyank :D

I am not sure what is causing the extra pics but if you use a file explorer you should be able to find them on the SD card somewhere and delete them that way. It seems odd that they are reliant on the internet

Yeahha,
I'm not sure what you mean by file explorer on the tablet. I don't have a SD card on the tablet, so I don't know where the tablet is picking these images up since the only time they appear once I clear the data in the gallery is when I'm connected to the Internet. I've never run across anything like this.

mohotovec,
No, I don't think it is, as that is one of the items I cleared the data from when I was talking to the tech at ASUS. It is bugging me to no end because I consider myself somewhat literate with computers but I can't figure this out. I think the pictures were picked up from blogs, but the article from the blogs that they came from no longer exist on the blog. If I could just determine where the tablet is picking them up, I might be able to figure something out. Like I mentioned in one of the previous posts, as long as I am not connected to the Internet and have cleared the cache for the gallery, they don't appear. It is only when I connect to the Internet that they show back up.
thanks for you help.
John

To all that tried to help with my problem, I thank you. I got to looking around to try and figure how the photos were getting on my tablet and the only place I could think of it had to be tied into the Picassa program I have on my laptop. Apparently when the photos are put into Picassa for editing, etc. they also go to the Picassa web albums site that has free photo sharing by Google. I went to the site and removed all the pictures on my site as I never used them anyway. I got on my tablet and cleared data in the gallery and even though I was connected to the Internet, the pictures were gone. No if I can just find out how to keep any pictures I work with in Picassa from going to the site I will have it fixed.

there is a setting you can turn off to prevent cloud pictures appearing in your gallery

I think it under accounts and settings, click on your google account name and you should see a tick list of things it will sync. Picasa is one of them, untick it then got to the gallery app settings and clear the cache and all should be well.

Thanks Partridge. It was right where you said it was. I unchecked it so I'll see how it works. Since this problem appears to be solved, maybe you could suggest a way of getting back the original photos that were on the tablet when I bought it, in case I want to change the current one. When I did a factory restore as suggested by a tech, they did not return.
