Help Problem with Google Maps

Hi,

I recently bought a new GS3 so I'm still new with all this stuff (coming from an iPhone).

So I must say I'm very pleased with most features of this new device, but one thing keeps bugging me.

When I go into google maps (the basic "Maps" application), I can't seem to find a way to display the street directions. Now I don't mean directions as in the path to go from point A to point B, but the street directions, as in is it a 1 way, or 2 ways street. If I zoom in a lot (almost to the point of street view) the arrows appear. But the amount of zooming seems to be excessive as I can pretty much only see 1 or 2 blocks at a time... On my previous phone, I could see at least 10-20 blocks with the street "directions" or "ways" which was much more convenient.

Am I missing something here?

Go into Navigation mode and you will get real navigation instead of a map.

Thanks for that reply, but I am not sure that actually answers my question.
Even in the navigation feature, the street directions (ways, arrows, whatever you wanna call them) don't appear.

Am I the only one out there that want this feature?
