On selecting power off with my HTC Wildfire a message saying (storage low" briefly appeared. After screen went blank the battery was removed.

On inserting a different battery, and without knowingly switching on, the screen lit up instantly but not with usual HTC logo and startup screen. Display is staying lit and says:

"BUZZ PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.01.0001
MICROP-0622
TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224_20aa
RADIO-3.35.20.10
Nov 17 2010,12:08:53

HBOOT

<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next item
<POWER> to select item

FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK"

Screen has now gone blank.

Please help.

What do I need to do to start my phone normally and without any loss of data or programmes.

That's the bootloader screen. It's generally not a good sign if it boots into that.

The first thing I'd try is putting the original battery in and charging the phone. Then see if it boots normally.

If not, try pulling the battery out for a couple of minutes, then try again.

If it still doesn't, select "recovery" from that menu (use volume keys to highlight, then power to select). That will take you to a black screen with a red triangle. Use power+volume up keys to bring up the recovery menu, and hopefully that will let you wipe the cache (just cache, you don't want to do a factory reset).

If wiping cache still doesn't let you boot normally, and the phone is not rooted, then there's always the factory reset, but that will result in loss of all apps and data.

Good luck!
