Help Problem with Kies and contacts

doc1964

Android Enthusiast
I have samsung galaxy s running Froyo 2.2. I have latest version of Kies running on a laptop with windows 7 32 bit. When i connect phone to Kies and select contacts, i get the following message, no response from the device reboot and reconnect the device. Please contact the customer service centre if the problem persists. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Kies but the message still appears. Things worked fine until latest update to Kies. I have looked on the web and can find other people with same problem but no solutions. Can anyone confirm if this is a problem limited to some owners or is it across all owners who have standard non rooted phones. Thanks for any help.

Well guess what, new version of KIES available today and still this problem exists. Same error message.
I know the software is a piece of garbage but can anyone confirm if they are having this same problem. Is it working for anyone with a phone that has not been rooted.

I have used both versions and have had no problem with connections. Start KIES first and plugin the cable after its up and watch for connection to complete.

I am pasting the system requirements below. NOTE: .NET 3.5 SP1 is required and not installed by default in Windows. Go to Windows update and install them. It takes awhile being large downloads.

System Requirements

System requirements Description OS Windows XP(service pack2), Windows Vista, Windows 7 CPU Intel

thank you for a quick reply.
Was about to instal the net framework 3.5 SP1 you mention, but i am using Windows 7 and this does not show in the requirements for the service pack, think it is for vista, XP and server only.
Do you think this is still an issue.

Is it possible to run the Keis firmware update to Froyo if my Galaxy S running Eclair has the Voodoo Lagfix? I have a reboot app that let's me reboot with or without the lagfix. I could reboot without it, then update. Would I still need Voodoo after Froyo update?

Thanks.

It requires .NET (programming is based on that engine). I checked my installed programs I see .NET 4 in the list. Look at the optional software in Windows Update if its there install it since you'd have to have something for it to run.
