Help Problem with my Desire.. help!

I'm very new to the smart phone scene and age doesn't help when it comes to solving problems! It may be something I've done while messing with the features, but when I select the mail (txt) widget the weather screen appears.
Can anyone put me in the picture?

have you tried removing it and adding it again?

Have you removed the battery and restarted? Does the issue persist?

Try doing a cache clearing of your HOME or LAUNCHER app.
From your main home screen tap the menu button and select SETTINGS from the menu that pops up. Now scroll through these Items till you see and click Application. In here go to and click Manage Applications. Now scroll through ALL applications till ou see the name of your chosen LAUNCHER. If you are still using the stock os supplied app for this it'll be called LAUNCHER (if I'm wrong on that some one will point you to the right name but the proses will be the same) click and enter. In here simply click the clear cache button. This will delete all widgets that you have entered or added or changed and set the system back to default as in when you received the phone.
