Help Problem with Nova Launcher and scrolling wallpapers

I can't get a custom wallpaper selected from Gallery to scroll, even with scrolling and forced scroll turned on. It works fine if it's a stock wallpaper from Touchwiz or Go Launcher EX.
 
Size matters when it comes to scrolling wallpapers. A 576x768 JPEG image taken with an iphone and cropped by the on-board gallery app scrolls but leaves a quater inch border on either side when it gets to the last screen. a 4128x2322 JPEG taken with my Note 3 camera and cropped by the on-board gallery app scrolls but leaves an even larger black border. The ideal size for wallpapers is 1080x1920. So you want the higher number in the rear. Simon_Gardner computed the aspect ratio as 1:1.77777777777778 in this post.
 
A simple cure works for me. I use ES File Explorer (free on Play Store) to select the image via the Nova wallpaper option from the menu button. Hope this helps.
