android rear camera

Guest
Hi all
I have a problem with my android's camera .
when i run the camera it closes with "force stop : gallery has stopped working" !
Also there is no camera in app list (setting>app>all)
I installed the nexus camera app . the camera worked just once - also the camera works after each 20 run !!!
but when in nexus camera i select front camera , it works well !!!
and also when i test the camera from boot menu , the front works but the rear not !!
what should i do?
(srry for my bad english)

What phone have you got, and has the software been modified in any way (if you bought it second-hand, is there any sign that it has ever had the bootloader unlocked or been rooted)?

Did the problem start when you rooted it, or made any other modification to the system software?

Unfortunately I don't know how many members we will have who will be familiar with that phone.

no - the problem happened after rooting -
i have download a new Rom - but i dont know how to install it? just download a 256mb zip file

Usually ROMs are installed by flashing them from a custom recovery - custom because it has more capabilities than the stock recovery option, including the ability to install unsigned software. However, the catch there is that you need to find a custom recovery that was built for your phone model - do not attempt to install a recovery that was built for a different phone, as you could mess things up very badly indeed. Often a recovery is installed during the process of rooting, but there are tools which will root some phones without installing one, in which case you would need to find a compatible one and install that first.

However, I did say "usually". The place you downloaded the ROM from would usually say how you install it, as in principle it could be intended to be installed through a different procedure.

I try to use Factory Recovery (holding power + vol down + home on start).
the menu was in chines !!! i try all the options - but there was no "install from SD" !!! also I try ROM MANAGER app - but don't worked either !!!
OH .. one more thing - in Factory Recovery menu there was hardware test - the rear camera didn't work there ! but when I try the test one more time the camera worked !
srry for my English

Unless you know that there is a ClockWorkMod that is compatible with your device I'd avoid ROM Manager.

What I meant was that it might be possible to install it with fastboot. But don't just go trying stuff, because you could make a worse mess. Try to find out from the source of your zip file how it is meant to be installed.

So I take it then that the camera module is working. Can you open the camera from the Gallery app? Gallery and Camera are often linked. Or have you tried other camera apps from the Play Store?
