Problem with S4 and USB audio OTG

Hi, I use a S4 with a small, dedicated headphone amp, which is connected to the phone with a small USB OTG cable. It sounds great, but lately I have some problems.

When I plug the cable into my phone and the amp I get sound. When I wiggle the cable, it keeps playing.

BUT when I try to put the phone and amp (velcroed together) in my coat pocket I hear a loud pop and the music stops playing. Furthermore, when I look on the phone the sound is now rapidly scrolling forward! I have to unplug and reconnect the cable to get sound again.

How can this happen? I tried another Samsung Galaxy S4 and it had the same problem... I tried pressing and wiggling everywhere, but I simply can't reproduce this behaviour without actually putting the phone in my pocket...

I use Poweramp by the way.

Thanks, Daan

From your description it sounds like you have a faulty OTG cable. I Googled and found many suggestions that poor/cheap OTG cables give a lot of trouble and can/could brick the phone. If this applies to your cable I would suggest you get a high quality cable and test that in your phone. Neil.
