Help Problem with Samsung Galaxy Ace

I have a little problem with my phone, about a week ago i saw some strange icon on my phone like this on this picture , do anybody knows what this means? i also realize, when this icon is on the bettery life gets very week, and i have to charge my phone every day. Can i do something about it?

That is the sync indicator, it is telling you that your phone is synchronizing your contacts, mails, calendar etc with google.
You can switch it off from the settings>accounts and sync.
