Problem with screen in Email App

I've been using the stock email app (not the GMAIL app) on my Galaxy s3 Verizon phone. Just recently when using the app, the screen dims making it hard to view emails. When I change to another app the screen brightness returns to normal. I've looked through the app's menus and the settings menu and can't find how to turn this behavior off.

It is a setting in power saving mode. Click Settings, Power saving mode, and uncheck Background color. It'll prevent the screen from dimming in emails and on the internet.

Also look at Settings/Display and uncheck Auto adjust screen tone.
