Just finished my contract with orange and decided to get a new three network sim. Put it in my phone and it was giving very low signal and 3g wouldn't work. After about 2 mins the signal went off completely. Tried numerous things, turning on/off, leaving battery out for awhile. Every now and again the signal would come on for 30secs or so but then die again. So decided to try it in my old nokia and it worked perfect, full signal,3G.
Found a method after a few searches were you type *#*#4636#*#* which brings up a menu and you turn radio on then off again. The first time i did this i got a 3 bar signal and 3g came on for the first time. I managed to send and receive a few txts. but after about 3-4 mins the signal died again.
Ive now put my orange sim back in my phone and now im not getting signal with that either, again tried all the on/off, battery out, etc... But nothing!
Oh the phone is a HTC desire HD if that helps, its the best phone ive ever had so i don't wanna get rid of it. Do giffgaff offer all you can eat data sims? might have to order one and try that.
