problem with sound

[Android Question]

Phone: Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8

Just bought this phone...The ringtone volume automatically reduces to a lesser level & stays at that level...eventhough the settings shows loudest level...when i restarted my phone the volume at loudest level is fine....Even when i connected my earphone i could not hear it, i had to switch off the phone & switch it on to hear it work..

Let me know what could be the problem, hardware or software app?

have you checked your sound settings to see if the volume is set to reduce after a certain point?
are you running an app like LLAMA that controls sound settings?
