Help Problem with the brightness after upgrading to ICS

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and two days ago I updated it to Ice Cream Sandwich but I have a problem with the brightness, it's all the time so bright although the sensors are off and the brightness is set manually to 0 and the automatic setting is ticked off. Any way to fix this quickly?

Try set it brightness to automatic setting... reboot, then after reboot, set it back to manual and adjust its setting... if it still persists, I would recommend you do a full backup of your applications and data and do a factory reset. Upgrading firmware has a tendency to leave around old firmware settings which are still used by the newer firmware, and causes issues/glitches.

Hey, how do you do a full back up? I see a button here for back up but when I tap on it to see if it works it just gives more options and no button for doing an immediate back up.

According to PCWorld, That backup feature only saves wireless network preferences, bookmarks, and custom dictionary words Google's servers using your Google account. You'll need to sync your google account to perform the backup. It wont save your apps install data or the data thats stored for use by those apps. They need to be saved manually.

You can use Samsung KIES to back up most of phone contacts, some built-in apps that come preinstalled with the phone, and specific phone settings.

For installed apps, I normally access each one (priority to apps with important data) - see if they have a backup/export data function and place it to either USB storage (internal phone storage) or SD Card (external phone storage). I would also check to see if there are apps that have licenses, and find a way to keep a backup of those information to avoid repurchasing in google play... unless stated otherwise.

Factory reset most likely wont wipe out data with internal (USB storage) or external (external SD-Card) memory, it only wipes/resets the storage area for Android OS itself and any data (such as app licenses) contained in them. But to be safe, you'll be better off copying all your data manually off the internal and external storage to your computer... wipe the external storage, then reset your phone - choosing the option of wiping your USB storage for a complete clean.

According to krohnjw at XDA, there is an app called ADB that can backup applications without root. That app might help simplify backing up and restoring apps with data after a reset... but I personally haven't used it so you might need to fiddle around with it to see if it helps you with backing up your phone's apps and data.
