Help problem with wi-fi

on my old wi-fi where the speeds were 17 down and nearly 1 upload my s3 worked fine on it .
i have now had new internet for a almost a week with 75 down and 18 upload and my phone cannot use it .

like sometimes if i am lucky it may open one web page but then not be able to use it anymore .

i have connected to wi-fi in cafe`s and a firends house where the speeds are considerably lower than my home wi-fi and it works fine .

i am led to conclude that the s3 cannot cope with these super fast wi-fi points

any body got any suggestions of how i can use my home wi-fi on this phone .

or is it the phones hardware that cannot cope ?

What channel frequency are you connecting to? I've recently had a new router too but my S3 struggles to connect on the 5GHz channel and frequently drops out. So I just connect to the 2.4GHz channel instead.

channel 1

i have no idea how i would or even if i could connect to a different frequency
just checked and my router is 2.4 ghz only .

I would install WiFi Analyzer

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5mYXJwcm9jLndpZmkuYW5hbHl6ZXIiXQ..

and run it. Your channel 1 may be overloaded with other nearby access points, making it almost unusable.

After you get connected to your AP, go to the Channel rating screen and see if maybe you need to move to another channel. On 2.4 you'll typically only have 1, 6 and 11 as viable channels without interference from adjacent APS.
