Help Problems accessing email server

I have a bizarre problem that means that I cannot send email via my pop server when connected via my data provider (Vodafone UK). However, when connected via wi-fi, everything is absolutely fine. Both my data provider and my email server hosting company insist the problem cannot not lie with them. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what the problem may be and how to resolve it?
I'm using an HTC One, if it helps. And gmail & yahoo mail work fine (I really don't want to use these accounts to send work emails, though).

Could be a DNS resolution problem. The Vodafone guys should be able to troubleshoot this. Contact their tech support again.

Thanks for replying. That was my suspicion too, but Vodafone refuse to accept it, claiming that as I can use the web & gmail etc., it's not their problem. Not very helpful!
