problems after root

hi....
i have a micromax A73.with your wonderful guidance i have rooted my phone with ease. but after rooting my device , i am having some kind of problems like
1) i think the display resolution has changed because the wallpapers that appeared perfectly on my home screen now(after root) appears bigger and spreaded. can it be due to root??? plz help me out on this....
2) i mainly rooted because i wanted to increase the speed of my device....i m using setcpu ... but still i am facing problems of lagging and it sometimes takes about a minute to open the applications menu or anything of the sort.... plz help me out....

Unfortunately a bad root can cause issues like this. Did you make sure to perform a factory reset after the device was rooted? If not I would suggest to do that now.

factory reset means i should do settings>privacy>factory data reset ??
will it not delete all my phones data??

factory reset didn't solve my problem.:-(
